PASADENA POLICE STOP COMMERCIAL BURGLARY SPREE PASADENA POLICE ALSO SEEK THE PUBLIC’S HELP IN IDENTIFYING A THIRD
ARRESTED: Juan Manuel Morales, male, 19-years old, Los Angeles, CA resident Kiyonte Levell Sowell, male, 18-years old, Los Angeles, CA resident
PASADENA, CA – On Friday, January 18, 2019, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department- Compton Deputies detained two occupants of a vehicle suspected in the involvement of a commercial burglary committed in Pasadena.
Pasadena Commercial Burglary Detective Kourtney Zilbert developed investigative leads from a commercial burglary that occurred on January 5, 2019. Detective Zilbert issued an investigative felony stop on the suspect vehicle. Compton deputies stopped the vehicle and held the occupants for further investigation. Pasadena Police responded to Compton, arrested the suspects, and booked them at the Pasadena city jail. After the suspects’ arrest, Detective Zilbert conducted further investigation.
Detective Zilbert collaborated with Detective David Torres and Detective Hector Salas of the Los Angeles Police Department, Northeast Division. Detectives believe the suspects are responsible for at least ten commercial burglaries that all occurred on the morning of January 5, 2019, along Colorado Blvd in the Eagle Rock area of Los Angeles and Northwest Pasadena.
On Thursday, January 24, 2019, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s
Office filed 10-counts of second degree commercial burglary against both
Suspect Morales and Suspect Sowell. The arraignment for both suspects was held
on Thursday, January 24, 2019. Suspect Morales’
bail has been set at $200,000.00 and Suspect Sowell’s bail has been set at $100,000.00.
Their preliminary hearing has been set for March 3, 2019. No additional information is being released at this time since the police investigation is on-going.
