Following a prolonged closure due to the pandemic, the Glassell Park Senior Center celebrated a grand reopening on May 5.
Hosted by Councilmember Gil Cedillo, the celebration included lunch, music by the Susie Hansen Latin Band trio, giveaways of produce and groceries and resource information tables. Co-hosts included Dr. Ciriaco “CID” Pinedo, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Mexican-American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF), as well as representatives from the City of Los Angeles Department of Aging, Glassell Park Neighborhood Council, Glassell Park Improvement Association, El Centro Del Pueblo and Central City Neighborhood Partners.
“As we recover from the pandemic,” said Cedillo, “I am so happy that we are re-engaging our seniors.” Cedillo also thanked MAOF, the city’s Department of Aging and other supporters of the senior center for the work they do to provide services, resources and emotional support to the community’s senior citizens.
The Glassell Park Senior Center is located at 3750 Verdugo Road. For services and more information, click here, or call 323-550-8809
That isn’t their website. It goes to a page that basically says “here’s their real site” – and that link is broken. Can you provide a real, working link?
